Products/services: The Research Centre belongs to the Faculty of Law, Business and Economics at the University of Bayreuth. The Research Centre focuses on the scientific treatment of Food Law in a intradisciplinary way. Food Law is not only subject to Public Law, but is also associated with areas of Competition Law or Civil Law. The international approach of the Research Centre is based on the European prescriptions that dominate the Member State’s legislation regarding Food Law. Constantly changing European norms and prescriptions have lead to a restructuring and reorganization of Food Law over the last years. As well as this, social expectations towards Food Law are increasing. In order to meet a high level of consumer protection, as well as the requirements of the food industry, it is vital that the legal doctrine of Food-Law-regulations is advanced. The Research Centre cooperates with various institutions from the sciences, economy, justice, administration and politics.
